Culture

World Globe with Kente ClothsThe continent of Africa is rich and diverse with culture. Not only differing from one country to another but even within an individual country, many different cultures can be found.

The Kente Cloth Festival cultural activity centers on the African family oriented culture. History, art, music, and oral literature of the African continent are presented at the Kente Cloth Festival. The Westernized minority, influenced by European culture, still rejects African traditional cultures. We seek to revive these cultures for the sakes of our youths. In doing so, we present the following Asante customs and traditions in our festival showcase:

1. Kente Cloth
2. Asa (African Cultural Dance)
3. Ebadini to (Naming Ceremony)
4. Days of the week with Asante first name
5. Awadee (Asante Marriage Ceremony)
6. Ahene sie (King Making)
7. Bragoro (Puberty Rites)
9. Agoro (Games)
10. Ntoma fra ( Clothes wearing from Asante concepts)
11. Nsaguo (libation)

African Design Concepts, Inc. welcome volunteers with expertise in preservation, sanitary technology, exploration support, culture and tourism. We are introducing urban youths to cooperative entrepreneurship and advanced vocational skills training in computer technology.
